Sean Sherman, an Oglala Lakota from Pine Ridge, SD, has spent three decades promoting Indigenous food systems in modern culinary settings. In 2014, he launched The Sioux Chef in Minneapolis, and in 2015, he co-designed the Tatanka Truck, serving pre-contact foods. He also founded the nonprofit North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems (NATIFS) to make indigenous foods more accessible and support tribal food enterprises.
